The resurgence of analog photography is real y’all! Younger generations are embracing a slower process of image-making over the instant gratification of digital photography and its evident in the growth of the film community in darkrooms and online. Just look at the hashtag #FilmIsNotDead on Instagram and you’ll find over 14 million posts related to analog photography.
It’s a pretty exciting moment which is why we thought it would be the perfect time to invite our good friend and photographer, Birgit Buchart to come and speak about the explosive growth of analog and why she prefers shooting on film versus digital. Birgit is also the US general manager at Lomography, a Viennese film manufacturer and camera brand encouraging creativity and fun experimentation in photography which is a philosophy we can get behind.
Join us for our friendly Meet ‘n Greet with Birgit Buchart of Lomography at BKC on Saturday, March 7th from 2pm – 4pm. We’ll use this time to look through some of Birgit’s favorite images she’s made using Lomo’s beautiful films and learn about the history of Lomography. We’ll also save some time for YOU to check out some of the brand’s latest film stocks, cameras and lenses Lomography has released to date.
