With MAX KRISTULA-GREEN
Description
To capture and document this city is to become part of New York’s rich narrative preserved and remembered for generations. Classic street shooters like Robert Frank, Reinhart Wolf and William Klein loved to train their lens on Liberty City’s rolling architecture, its vitality and grit. In this Crash Course we’ll examine some work by a few noteworthy photographers of the Urban Landscape, and discuss how they sought and achieved their iconic imagery. Then we’ll hit the streets, focusing on dynamic framing and composition, analyzing lighting conditions, assessing color and contrast, and exploring the area for arresting scenes to photograph. At the end we’ll discuss ways to develop our ideas and take our photos further.
