Max Kristula-Green
BIO
Born in Taiwan and raised in Tokyo, Max is an artist and educator based New York, NY. He graduated in 2011 from Parsons the New School for Design in New York City with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in photography. His work has been exhibited at Parsons, Ken Allen Studios and most recently at the Stonewall Gallery in Fort Lauderdale as part of TransArt 2017.
He currently works as a digital photo retoucher, teacher and freelance photographer. Max believes in a hands on, collaborative, problem solving approach to teaching. He encourages and welcomes open dialogue of photography practices between classmates to inspire each other throughout the classes. He often uses the weekend to be digital free and strives to keep analog techniques alive in his personal practice. Within the last year he has been perfecting a custom pinhole camera and is using them to create a series of iconic landmarks of New York City. Much of Max’s work is rooted in nostalgia, keepsakes and memory.
