Beautiful Country

DeJonte and his family immigrated to the United States from Guyana when he was only a year old. “Beautiful Country” is a collection of images meant to serve as a love letter to the vibrant landscapes, culture, and people of his homeland. Through these images, he seeks to fill the gaps in his memories, inviting viewers on a journey of rediscovery. Each photograph captures a moment of reconnection, framing Guyana through the unique lens of someone who is simultaneously a native and an outsider.
