“building sisterhood” is an ongoing photo-series celebrating women in trades in New York City – featuring 3 ironworkers (Laney, Bonita, and Julie) from Labor 46 and their sisterhood. The series invites viewers to recognize the women who were part of building the city’s infrastructure, from the World Trade Center to foundation reinforcement across all five boroughs.

Katherine Fu is a New York City-based, Tennessee raised, Taiwanese-American visual artist. Her work explores themes of human connectivity and the beauty of belonging, and her creative practice bridges art and activism through immersive multimedia and community-based projects.
