Someone looks at the work, they see characters caught in these in-between spaces. They see people existing in places that are both somewhere and nowhere at the same time. Originally, this was supposed to be a fashion project. I had a focus; I wanted to use the series to define something for myself, to try and actually get somewhere. But somehow, after all that, I continue to feel somewhat aimless. A lot people keep telling me to enjoy this time in my life, the brief period to mess around and experiment before I’m funneled into one kind of career or another. I guess, I’m just wondering how long it will last.
